As promised, this week we are working on crossing and curving the ball.
  • Conditioning exercises are below. Do 2-3 sets of the exercises. Here is Coach William demonstrating the exercises for this week: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQHsbZiuofk
    • Jogging for 10-15 minutes minimum
    • Seated knee tucks (10-15 per set)
    • Supermans (10-15 per set)
    • Walking lunges (10-15 per set)
    • Dead Bugs (15-20 seconds)
    • Plank Pikes (15-20 seconds)
  • Coach Brice's tips for crossing and curving the ball: This technique can be used when you are on the wing, trying to cross it to your teammate to finish, for corner kicks, or for free kicks.
    • Place the ball on the ground
    • Take 3-6 steps back
    • Lead with your left foot first, if you are right footed.
    • Move towards the ball and strike it with the inside foot, toes up
  • Check out these videos of the pros for good examples:

Have a great week, and #GoFCLions! Next week we will do long balls, which are different than curving.
