5/17/2020

We are going to work on shooting with your inside foot. Next week we will work on crossing and curving the ball.
  • Conditioning exercises. I have been hearing that many players are doing these as a family. Feel free to do this with siblings or your parents! These are some exercises I am doing myself at home:
    • 10-15 minutes jogging minimum
    • Conditioning exercises - do 2-3 sets (feel free to do more)
      • 10-15 jumping jacks
      • Side lunges 20-30 seconds
      • Knee hugs 10-15 seconds
      • Lunge twists 10-15 seconds per side (older kids and parents can use a weight if you want)
      • Plank shoulder taps 10-15 seconds
  • Instructions for shooting with your inside foot:
    • It's basically the same technique as passing, just with more power.
    • Keep your eye on the ball and your toes up.
    • Look to where you want the ball to go.
    • Kick the ball like you are making a pass with your inside foot, but harder, and aiming towards the goal.
    • Lock your ankle when you connect with the ball.
    • Feel free to use a wall to practice the technique.
  • Here is another passing demonstration. You can use this to practice shooting with the same technique:

  • Here are some great examples from the pros. Most pros use this technique when they take penalty kicks or when they are inside the box:

Have a great week, and #GoFCLions!
